Electrical Safety Assessment
BUILDBD Engineering conducts Electrical Safety Assessment to evaluate the overall electrical safety condition of a building and to identify potential electrical hazards that may pose risks to life, property, and operations. The main objective of this assessment is to ensure safe electrical installation, proper load management, and compliance with applicable standards and codes.
This assessment focuses on identifying faulty wiring, overload conditions, poor installation practices, and inadequate protection systems. It also helps ensure that the electrical system is safe, efficient, and suitable for the building’s usage requirements in accordance with the Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) and relevant electrical safety guidelines.
Electrical Safety Assessment Process
1. Documentation Review
Electrical layout drawings, load distribution plans, panel schedules, and installation records are reviewed. Approval documents, inspection certificates, and maintenance records (if available) are also checked.
2. On-Site Inspection
A detailed physical inspection is carried out of electrical panels, distribution boards, wiring systems, sockets, switches, and grounding systems. The condition of cables, insulation, and protection devices such as MCBs, MCCBs, and fuses are also assessed.
3. Load & Risk Evaluation
Electrical load distribution is analyzed to identify overloading or imbalance issues. Risks such as short circuits, leakage current, overheating, and poor earthing systems are evaluated.
4. Reporting & Recommendations
A formal report is prepared outlining observations, safety issues, and system deficiencies. Recommendations are provided for system improvement, rewiring, load balancing, and safety upgrades. If critical hazards are found, immediate corrective actions are advised to prevent accidents or fire risks.
